Crystal: Acrylic Problems Doesn’t run despite being fully wound One jewel for the balance wheel is missing Mainspring is broken. Troubleshooting steps Opened up and cleaned all parts. One jewel for the balance wheel is missing The arbor was stuck to one or both bridges. After thorough cleaning the watch began running. However the mainspring catch immediately broke, making it impossible to wind. Media

Wound and let run for 24 hours. It’s hard to time because the power reserve seems to be less than 24 hours. Crown is damaged and needs replacing Media

Lug-to-lug: 17mm Movement: Unknown movement, most likely Eppler Date complication Pin pallet escapement Case: Stainless steel Crystal: Acrylic Problems Crystal has deep scratches Only runs when shaking Troubleshooting Opened up and cleaned all parts. Wound and let run for 24 hours. It times around +200s/d, but seems to have a healthy power reserve. It seems that the watch does not have a seconds hand, and there is no wheel that drives the seconds hand. Unsure if this is by design or the wheel is simply missing. Media

Movement: FHF 974 Date complication Case: Stainless steel Crystal: Acrylic Problems Crystal has cracked Only runs when winding, stops shortly afterward, even when fully wound Rusty date wheel Troubleshooting Rust Opened up and cleaned all parts. Some screws have rusted off, but all parts seem to work I lost the date spring somewhere Rust is limited to the date complication. Other areas untouched. Only runs when winding During deconstruction, the mainspring was stuck to the barrel bridge. Barrel arbor very rusty. Cleaned and oiled, but is still not working as it should. After reconstruction, the mainspring gets charged, but will not apply the power to the train of wheels. It’s possible to unwind the mainspring. Possibly problem with the pivot on the other side of the mainspring getting stuck? Media

Some notes on a watch I have been given, which I’m trying to identify. Text on dial: Javil - 21 Jewels - Incabloc - Antimagnetic - Waterprotected - Swiss made Text on case back: Stainless steel back - Waterproof Antimagnetic - Incabloc swiss made - 4852 - 71 Data Measurements are done by me, and might not be the official numbers. Width: 33mm Length: 42mm Lug-to-lug: 18mm Movement: Likely AS 1188. See image below and compare. It’s very similar to AS 1188 Note that it has 21 jewels, but in the image below you can see that it has jewels jammed into useless locations. Case seems to be made of nickle plated brass Crystal: Acrylic Notes A local watchmaker said they would need to open it up to give a service cost estimate (which would cost 300 SEK), but to expect the service cost to be 3500 SEK or more.
